ITS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR!
Following Comets Northern Beaches personnel who are
at the top end of their netball career paths working
and achieving at varied levels of our sport.
The Australian Mixed Team returned victorious from New Zealand
after competing in the 2026 TransTasman Cup Competition.
The Assistant Coach was one of our own, Colette Longley.
The team won all games convincingly
breaking the drought from the last win back in 2018!!
Haydn Mackay, our hard working National 'A' badged
umpire has umpired training games for
Nth Shore United Opens vs Singapore, a
high performance experience as part of the Spirit Series.
Netball NSW State Titles ran on the Long Weekend at Penrith.
Comets Northern Beaches was well represented .

team who came in 3rd, a step up from 4th place in 2025!!
Congratulations to Caitlin Potter, Comets 2 Div 2, who has been selected
for the Netball NSW Emerging Talent Metro Team. a Talent ID Programme
designed for for players 16-19 who show a potential to progress.

Netball is an exciting sport, always evolving. Once a safe place for women to play sport, increasingly change has to provide a different future for netball to grow and be competitive with other sports. We are volunteer driven which should enrich our sport with talent freely given by women for the most part who bring career skills to our organisation.
To grow beyond our traditional boundaries Comets do not support:

2025 HIGHLIGHTS - 2 GREAT SEASONS!
Winter Teams, of our 7 teams, Comets had 5 semifinalists and 2 grandfinalists. Team 1 won Div 2 & Team 4 won Div 5.
Spring Teams, Comets increased the number of Spring teams we had in 2024 from 1 to 4 this year. Team 1 maintained their winning streak to win Div 1 as well.
Mixed Teams, still successful supporting MWNA in the growth of Mixed teams. THANK YOU Libby & Oscar who put together a beautiful team.
Our umpires keep earning badges and milestones. B Badges for Bridget Boyd and Elsie Van der Saag, C Badge for Steph Davison, while Haydn Mackay, AA, umpired his 13th year on the A grade/Div 1 grandfinals, plus umpiring 150+ premier league games!!
Katie Langford was elected as 2026 MWNA Umpires Convenor.

State Mixed Championships, Colette Longley coached the NSW Mixed team to runners up position at the Nationals
Hart State U17 Championships - Comets represented by Matilda Whitehead, Jessa Harpur & Tahlia Stone 15A
State U17 Award, Jessa Harpur, 15A, was awarded the prestigious Anne Sargeant Award for Senior player in MWNA U17 state team​​​​​​
