LATEST NEWS
2024 MWNA season began under blue skies and sunshine.
And empty courts.
2 days of atmospheric turbulence and soaking rain set the scene for Game
1 being cancelled and all the work leading up to putting our teams on court
became an anticlimax.
Until Game 2.
Netball creates resilience and toughness, flexibility and character, so
week 1 we rested and enjoy the sun and week 2 we enjoyed finally hitting the courts! A one week break for now until post school holidays when we play 2 half games to make up for the rain on week 1.
2024 looks very sunny for Comets.
We have 8 senior teams, all full andlooking great.
We registered some 35 new players and 2 new teams were formed.
ABOUT US
Comets Northern Beaches Netball Club has been associated with MWNA for 40+ years. The first Comets team played in the Spring Comp of 1979. Our members were an Australian umpire, a retired international player, a mother of an Australian player, the Australian physiotherapist, a National ‘A’ Badge umpire and three Level 1 coaches. A club composed of so many stars needed a name to suit & Comets came to being.
Our teams train at Curl Curl, but we do not draw from any particular area. Our connections are our friends & those who come looking for something different. More recently, we became Comets Northern Beaches to separate us from other Comets clubs in nearby associations. Our draw card is positive experience. The stability of our teams provides for successful seasons; our reputation comes from that consistent success.
We are small enough for the personal touch, big enough to be competitive, a club with the depth of talent to be involved in many levels of the Association.
